Ioana was first drawn to acupuncture when she began her own fertility journey years ago (she now has two beautiful daughters). She has spent the past 8 years focusing her practice on women’s health, female fertility, pain management and psycho-emotional conditions. Ioana strives to empower her patients to address both physical and emotional imbalances.

Ioana Vanca, L.Ac., Dipl. OM, is an Acupuncturist and Herbalist licensed by the State of Illinois and board certified in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Ioana completed her Master’s Degree at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, where she studied with some of the country’s leading professors and practitioners. She has more than 8 years of experience in acupuncture and herbology, practical clinical experience and adjunct therapies including Tui Na massage, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, Eastern and Western nutrition, electric stimulation and auriculotherapy. Ioana combines Traditional Eastern healing methods with a deep understanding of Western medicine, as well as the powerful influences of our daily environment on health. She utilizes her knowledge of all three areas to create a personalized treatment plan for her patients.
Ioana had her first experience with acupuncture while she was seeking treatment for infertility. During this time, she learned that effective treatment actually started with understanding her own body and emotions, all of which play a role in the ability to successfully conceive. Happily, acupuncture worked (of course!) and her experience inspired her to dedicate her practice to helping other women to better understand and address their health (whether on a fertility journey or not). Her experiences have led her to find her true passion and to help others achieve and maintain a state of optimal health.
